North Cheyenne Canon Park nature programs:

  • A Kids on Trails free bicycle safety clinic on June 11 begins goes from 9 a.m. to noon.
  • The Canon Teen Extreme series for ages 14 to 17 runs on Wednesdays from 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. ($55 per activity/person) teaching skills on: Summit Survival/Mountaineering (June 15), Rock Climbing (June 22), Llama Trekking (June 29), Mountain Biking (July 13), Extreme Orienteering (July 13), and Pinnacle Painting (July 27).
  • Guided Canon Discovery Hikes (ages 14 to adult) are offered on Fridays from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. ($15 per person). It's a brisk hike with an in-depth look at forest, creek and canon environments. Bring a water bottle, sturdy shoes, hat, jacket and snacks.  
  • Junior Ranger and Senior Ranger Walks (ages 8 to 12 or adult/senior) happen on Saturdays from 9:30 to 11:20 a.m. ($10 per child, $8 per additional family member, $8 per senior) and include an illustrated booklet and naturalist guide at your side. Junior rangers receive a colorful patch and certificate.
