Filmore and Union triple left turn lane
Motorists use the first triple left turn lane
Fillmore/Union Intersection: Construction on this safety and traffic efficiency project was completed with the Templeton Gap to Hancock Road improvements from September 2006 to May 2007. As part of this project, Colorado Springs drivers traveling east on Fillmore Street who turn north onto Union Boulevard are now using the region’s first side-by-side triple left turn lane.

Improvements included:

  • Adding an eastbound left turn lane
  • Adding a southbound through lane
  • Adding a southbound right turn lane
  • Modifying the westbound lanes through to Templeton Gap Road
  • Extending the northbound acceleration/deceleration lane to Templeton Gap Road
  • New traffic signals
