Fire Marshal Brett T. Lacey

Fire Marshal

Over the past thirty years, Brett has served in a multitude of fire service and safety industry roles: from firefighter and paramedic, to researcher, engineer, fire marshal, and instructor at Pikes Peak Community College. In 1998, he was appointed as the Fire Marshal for the Colorado Springs Fire Department and prior to that he served as the department's Deputy Fire Marshal for three years. During his seventeen years with the Colorado Springs Fire Department, he was also a Senior Fire Protection Engineer and Acting Deputy Fire Marshal.

Fire Marshal Lacey is a registered professional engineer and a certified safety professional with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Fire Protection and Safety Engineering Technology from Oklahoma State University. He's the co-author of Fire Prevention Applications and has contributed to articles published in Firehouse Magazine and the American Fire Journal. Brett and his wife Jan have five sons.
