Map

Foothills: Mule deer, Mountain Lion, coyote, elk, mixture of grasses, srub oak and yucca.

 

Foothills - 6,000 - 8,000 ft.: From Colorado Springs to about 2 1/2 miles to tollgate.

 

Montane: Ponderosa Pine, Blue Spruce, Douglas Fir, Aspen, elk, mule deer, black bear,

Mountain Lion, Bobcat, Stellar's Jays, Chickadees, Bald Eagles and Ebert Squirrels.

 

Montane - 8,000 - 9,500 ft.: 2 1/2 miles to just below 9 mile marker

 

Subalpine: Englemann Spruce, Bristle Cone Pine, Mountain Blue Bells.

 

Subalpine - 9,500 - 11,500 ft.: Just below 9 mile to just above 13 mile

.

Alpine: Bighorn Sheep, Marmots, Pika, White Tailed Ptarmigan, Moss Campion, Fairy Primrose, Pygmy bitterroot, other low growing vegetation.

 

Alpine - 11,500 ft. and above: Above 13 mile to the top.
