Commander Rafael Cintron

Biographical Information:   

Commander Rafael Cintron graduated from Widefield High School in 1981.  He joined the Colorado Springs Police Department in 1985.  As an officer, he was a member of the Tactical Enforcement Unit then transferred to the Training Academy as an instructor.  He was promoted to sergeant in 1997, where he served in Patrol, the Community Relations Office and Metro Vice, Narcotics & Intelligence.  He was promoted to lieutenant in 2002, where he served in Patrol, was the Public Information Officer and then the Training Academy Director.  He was promoted to commander in 2012.

Commander Cintron has a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice from Kansas Wesleyan University and a Master’s Degree in Criminal Administration from the University of Colorado.  Commander Cintron is a past Board member of the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce and is currently a Board member of the YMCA Metro Board of Directors.
