Draft Drainage Criteria Manual
Draft chapters of the new manual were distributed over the last several months and reviewed by many interested parties. After receiving about 500 review comments a meeting was held on November 30, 2012 to review the comments and discuss the initial responses of the project team. Since November, the project team has thoroughly reviewed all of the comments and made the appropriate changes to the draft documents.
A draft version of the new manual containing the revised chapters for Volumes 1 and 2, are being distributed for further review and comment. It is requested that review comments be provided using an EXCEL spreadsheet or WORD table that includes the reviewers name and organization, the chapter and section numbers where the subject of the comment is located and the specific review comment. It is most helpful if comments include specific recommendations for how to resolve the issue of concern. Review comments will be incorporated into the draft manual or an explanation will be provided if a comment does not require changes. A summary of the review comments and responses will be provided to all reviewers.

Review Schedule
In addition to review by individuals, the proposed manual will be presented at public meetings and to the City/County Drainage Board as follows:
8:30-9:30 AM, February 14th -Planning Commission, City Admin. Bldg, Room 102
8:30-9:30 AM February 28th - HBA Land Use Committee, HBA Offices,
1:00-3:00 PM, March 7th - City/County Drainage Board Workshop at City Hall, Academy Room
3:00-5:00 PM, April 4th - City/County Drainage Board Regular Meeting at City Hall, Council Chambers
Additional meetings may be scheduled if requested. After the community review process is completed, a resolution will be submitted to City Council for adoption of the manual. A schedule has not yet been set for the City Council meetings.

The following documents are available for review and comment. Please provide comments by March 5th. There are two files for each chapter. The first file includes the final chapter content including revisions and the second file is a MARKUP version that shows revisions that were made to the draft chapter. It was not possible to track all of the changes made to the draft chapters so some revisions may not be shown in the MARKUP version. Clicking on the chapter title with the left mouse button will open the PDF document. By clicking on the chapter title with the right mouse button and selecting "Save Target As..." you can download the files to your computer. NOTE: The new manuals are being adopted with reference to Volumes 1, 2 and 3 of the Urban Drainage and Flood Control District Urban Storm Drainage Criteria Manuals. The UDFCD manuals can be downloaded here: UDFCD Drainage Criteria Manuals. The new manuals include modifications that apply to our local standards, but the UDFCD manuals will be used to provide detailed design guidance and documentation not included in the new manuals.
