City of Colorado Springs / Communications / Snow is in the AIR

Snow Is In the AIR!

With snow in tonight’s forecast, the City would like to remind citizens about snow plowing procedures. The City clears the main arterials first click here for maps. Once those routes have been cleared AND the snow has stopped falling, then residential streets with 6 inches or more of snow will be plowed using a grid-based system click here for maps/grids . With the development of a grid based system, the Streets Division no longer plows by request. Instead, residential streets are plowed by grid (16 grids) based upon snow accumulation and accessibility.

For more information about snow routes and current plow call-out status, please call the Snow Line at 457-7669.

If City offices have a delayed start or are closed due to snow, the announcement will run on all major media outlets and on www.springsgov.com. Please use caution and keep an emergency kit in your vehicle. Click here for some Winter Driving Safety Tips (http://www.springsgov.com/units/police/miscDocs/WinterDrivingTips.pdf).
