City of Colorado Springs / Environmental Sustainability / Bicycle Tours / Sustainability TourColorado Springs Sustainability Bicycle Tour
The Bicycle Sustainability Tour of Colorado Springs is a great way to become familiar with sustainable projects. The stops on the tour are quite diverse showing residences, offices, buildings and shopping that have all been constructed with sustainable measures in mind. The tour is 29 miles and designed to be completed in about three hours via bicycle (not including time spent viewing the sites). The sights on this tour are just a sampling, yet they have been selected to showcase where Colorado Springs is heading. It is our hope, after completing the tour, that you are just as excited about this positive direction as we are. Click here for interactive Google Maps directions. Click on photos below for a virtual tour and location descriptions.
You can also take a tour within our tour. The following locations offer tours specific to their facilities:
Note: To avoid moderate hill climbs, eliminate the Xeric Demonstration Gardens (location G) and UCCS (location H) sites. If you have a shuttle or are riding on a weekday with access to the Mountain Metro bus system, you may wish to consider riding your bicycle from north to south (traveling back to UCCS by vehicle or bus) for a shorter and more downhill ride.
Enjoy the ride!
