Woodstone Fence

Woodstone Special Improvement Maintenance District Fence Policy

Per Ordinance No. 86-159, and any amendments thereto, it is the responsibility of the Woodstone Special Improvement Maintenance District to maintain the fence bordering Woodmen Road and the Dry Creek drainage area (see "Woodstone Special Improvement Maintenance District Property List" for specific addresses). Therefore, the following fSence policy has been approved as of 9/12/2011:

1. NO gates allowed as they have a negative impact on the structural integrity of the fence. *The stain color on the public side (i.e. exterior face of Woodmen Road) shall be "ICI Gingerbread House – 70YR 13/259" only. This stain is available at Harrison’s Painting, phone: 599-5565. Type of fence shall be per original construction for Woodmen Road. All non-Woodmen Road construction locations will be repaired using the construction design.

There shall be NO dumping of trash, grass clippings and/or other debris behind fences or in areas maintained by the Woodstone Special Improvement Maintenance District, as it is detrimental to the structural integrity of the fence and is in violation of City Ordinance No. 9.6.202. Property owners found to be in violation relinquish their right to have the fence maintained by the Woodstone Special Improvement Maintenance District and will be personally responsible for maintaining their fence in compliance with the remainder of the Woodstone Special Improvement Maintenance District Fence Policy.

Any repairs and/or replacements to the fence by said Woodstone Special Improvement Maintenance District or property owner must be in compliance with the design, structure and color set forth above.

6. Property owners, identified on the Woodstone Special Improvement Maintenance District Property List, with a gate may seek reinstatement of their fence maintenance by the Woodstone Special Improvement Maintenance District by:

  • a. Bringing the fence into compliance with said "Woodstone Special Improvement Maintenance District Fence Policy."
  • b. After written approval of the City of Colorado Springs, Special Improvement Maintenance District (SIMD) Unit Administrator.

7. Enforcement of said policy shall follow standard City of Colorado Springs Park and Recreation Department procedures.

Notice shall be given to homeowners in the Woodstone Special Improvement Maintenance District via the Woodmen Edition, The Gazette Hub and www.springsgov.com.

Questions regarding repair and/or replacement of fences should be directed to:
