Case Description

The Victim: 44 year old William Muse,  the divorced father of two boys. He owned his own floor cleaning business.


The Crime: On July 06, 1999 at approximately 0624 hours, Colorado Springs Police Officers were dispatched to 1502 Lehmberg Blvd. on a party not breathing.  At that location officers contacted personnel from the Colorado Springs Fire Department and AMR personnel who were on the scene.  The victim, identified as William Muse, was found lying in his bedroom with severe trauma to his head.  He was pronounced dead at the scene.


The Investigation: Officers found that his two children were uninjured inside the home. One of the children related that he had awakened and went to his father's bedroom to tell him that he was leaving and found unresponsive.    There was no sign of forced entry into the home and no one heard or saw anything suspicious.


As of this date there have been no arrests and the investigation into Mr. Muse's death remains open.


The Colorado Springs Police Department Homicide Cold Case Unit is currently responsible for approximately 90 unsolved homicide cases dating back to 1949. CSPD considers a case to be cold if it remains unsolved for more than one year.
