The Victim: Charles McGlaughlin, 32 years of age.

 

The Crime: On 8/13/1974 at approx. 9:50Am, Officers with the Colorado Springs Police Department were dispatched to the Wrigley Warehouse Grocery Store located at 2518 Airport Road, Colorado Springs, Colorado reference a robbery and shooting. When the Officers arrived they found the body of a male with an apparent gunshot wound, lying on the floor in the grocery store near the manager's stand.  The victim was identified as Charles McLaughlin, an employee of the grocery store and the shooting was determined to be the result of a robbery.

 

The Investigation: El Paso County Coroner, Dr. Bowerman, indicated that Charles McLaughlin death was attributed to a gunshot wound to the victim's chest.

The Colorado Springs Police Department Homicide Cold Case Unit is currently responsible for approximately 90 unsolved homicide cases dating back to 1949. CSPD considers a case to be cold if it remains unsolved for more than one year.
