The Victim: McKinley Collins, age 47.

The Crime: On 01-12-73 CSPD officers found the body of McKinley Collins in his residence at 230 E. Fountain Blvd.  Mr. Collins was the victim of a gunshot wound. Mr. Collins was widely described as a well known and friendly man in the neighborhood.

The Investigation: Many witnesses and possible suspects were interviewed. As of this date the case remains unsolved.

The Colorado Springs Police Department Homicide Cold Case Unit is currently responsible for approximately 90 unsolved homicide cases dating back to 1949. CSPD considers a case to be cold if it remains unsolved for more than one year.
