The Victim: Brandon Browne, shot and killed 11/26/04.
The Crime: On Thanksgiving night, 11/25/04, a group of seven young people decided to meet at the Icon Night Club on The two sisters were together in one car of the caravan en route to Denny's. At a stoplight south of Flintridge the ladies said an SUV pulled up beside them and that two African American men were trying to "hit on them." The SUV was a described as a dark colored Ford Explorer/Expedition. The ladies state they rebuffed the advances, and when the light changed, drove to the south end of the Denny's parking lot where they met with the rest of the group. A few minutes later, the same SUV that had contacted the ladies, pulled into the Denny's lot near the group of friends. A verbal altercation between the two groups of people ensued and shots were fired from the SUV and may have also been fired from individual(s) in the parking lot as the vehicle fled the area. Brandon Browne, age 23, was part of the group and had no part in the described altercation. To date neither the SUV nor its occupants have been identified. The individuals in the SUV may have been at the ICON. | |
