Case Description

File Number: 02-20105

The Victims:  Agnes "Jerri" Foland, age 38 and Michael Larson age 37 were transients who lived near I-25 and Corona Dr.

The victim's were well known by other transients as they often invited people to share what food and drink they had.

The Crime: As a result of a trespassing complaint, on June 16, 2002 Colorado Spring Police officers checked the vacant field near 1600 Lenmar for transients.  As officers entered the camp they observed that two tents had been set up. In front of one of the tents, they observed the deceased body of an adult male. Inside the tent officers found a deceased adult female. Both victim's had been stabbed to death and the area was covered with blood.

The Investigation: The victim's had been dead for several days before their discovery. Another couple lived in the camp but apparently were not there at the time of the homicides.

As of this date no arrests have been made in the case.

The Colorado Springs Police Department Homicide Cold Case Unit is currently responsible for approximately 90 unsolved homicide cases dating back to 1949. CSPD considers a case to be cold if it remains unsolved for more than one year.
