Case Description

File Number: 01-22484

The Victim: Ricarge "Ricky" Williams, 32 years old, was shot and killed on 07-05-01.

The Crime: On July 5th, 2001 the CSPD was dispatched to the Queens Knights Night Club in reference to a shooting. When officers arrived they found a deceased male, Ricarge "Ricky" Williams, DOB: 01-08-69 lying in the parking lot outside of the night club. The victim was transported to Memorial Hospital where he was pronounced dead from apparent gun shot wounds. CSPD patrol officers contacted over 60  night club patrons in reference to this investigation.

The Investigation: The investigation revealed that sometime in the early morning hours of July 5th, 2001 that a disturbance broke out inside of the Queens Knights club between 81 Crips and Gangster Disciples street gangmembers. At one point during this disturbance, several witnesses observed a black male, possibly the victim, waving a gun while inside of the club.

The disturbance moved outside where the victim was shot. CSPD Detectives and Crime Lab members recovered several different caliber shell casing at the scene. This investigation is continuing.

The Colorado Springs Police Department Homicide Cold Case Unit is currently responsible for approximately 90 unsolved homicide cases dating back to 1949. CSPD considers a case to be cold if it remains unsolved for more than one year.
