File Number: 96-5342 The Victim: Joseph Talahytewa a 40 year old homeless male was hospitalized on February 7, 1996 and succumbed to his injuries several days later. The Crime: Police were called on a report that a person had been assaulted near the Pikes Peak Liquor Store on the corner of The Investigation: The investigation revealed that a fight took place during the afternoon of February 7, 1996 behind the Pikes Peak Liquor Store. Mr. Talahytewa was able to communicate that he was assaulted by two people; one white male and one large Indian male who hit Mr. Talahytewa with a 2x4 to the head. He was able to walk with his girlfriend to 214 Wahsatch where he was later found. The investigation into Mr. Talahytewa?s death remains open.
