The Crime: On 08/15/89, the badly decomposed body of Judy Diebold, age 27, was found by a hiker just off Rampart Range Road in the Garden of the Gods area.  She had been reported missing by family members on 08/07/89.  Miss Diebold and a large group of friends and associates attended a party on the night of 08/04/89 or 08/05/89, and following this, some of the attendees went to the Garden of the Gods area and continued partying.  It is believed that on that occasion, Miss Diebold was assaulted and killed.  

The Colorado Springs Police Department Homicide Cold Case Unit is currently responsible for approximately 90 unsolved homicide cases dating back to 1949. CSPD considers a case to be cold if it remains unsolved for more than one year.
