The Victim: Lloyd Samuelson, a 53 year old father of one, was found deceased from apparent gunshot wounds on February 12, 1971 inside his residence.  He had three siblings and many friends.  He was a beloved school teacher at Palmer High School where he taught art.  His students called him "Mr. Sam" and he was so loved by his students that past students had stayed continued to stay in touch with him.

The Crime: On February 12, 1971 Mr. Samuelson did not report to work.  The principal at Palmer High School became concerned because Mr. Samuelson was always at work at 7:15 AM.  He and a faculty member went to check on Mr. Samuelson at his home and found him lying on the floor.  They immediately called the police. 

The Investigation: Upon investigation, policed discovered that a next door neighbor had witnessed Mr. Samuelson having dinner with an unknown person at Furr's Cafeteria on East Pikes Peak Ave. at approximately 6:00 p.m. the night before.  They also saw Mr. Samuelson pulling into his driveway at about 6:15 p.m.  It is believed that he was shot later that evening in his own home.
