The Academy Boulevard Corridor Revitalization Plan is a community-based planning and implementation effort being coordinated by the City of Colorado Springs Economic Development Department, under the direction of the Colorado Springs City Council. The focus for this project is an approximately six-mile segment of Academy Boulevard extending from Maizeland Road on the north and Drennan Road/Proby Parkway on the south. An approximately 12-square mile planning area has been identified to encompass this corridor.
A detailed Profile of the planning area is in the process of being completed for interim publication. A summary of this Profile was presented to City Council on February 9, 2009. The presentation is available in pdf format below.
In 2009, the City intends to initiate a multi-modal transportation analysis and planning process along with a land use vision plan for the corridor.
