Coaching Youth Sports

Coaches are richly rewarded with the satisfaction they gain from working with fun kids in a team atmosphere!

Recreation Services utilizes over 1,500 volunteer coaches in Youth Sports programs every year.

The Coaching Volunteer Program is a rewarding way to spend time with your kids and their friends while helping them to learn sports skills from soccer, t-ball to football. Coaches are richly rewarded with the satisfaction they gain from working with fun kids in a team atmosphere!

Coaches come from different backgrounds and sports knowledge bases, just as the player's skills and knowledge varies. We ensure that all teams have an excellent coaching staff that is dedicated to the philosophy of "Athletes first, winning second." 

Coaches Application
All volunteer coaches (new or returning) must complete a coaches application annually during the calendar year running June 1, year-May 31, following year (this coincides with a school year).

JUST FOR SOCCER
The City of Colorado Springs has partnered with the American Youth Soccer Organization (AYSO) to ensure a strong emphasis is placed on ethics, sportsmanship and the development of the whole child by improving the education of volunteers in the fields of child development, human behavior and sports psychology.

All volunteer soccer coaches must also complete the AYSO Volunteer Application.

TIPS FOR AYSO REGISTRATION...
When registering online with AYSO our region number is 1553. This number is required to complete the AYSO application.

AYSO's online registration tool can be found at www.eayso.org

Volunteers only have to do this once. You choose to save a user name and password, next season it will take less than 1 minute to sign up again!
