2011-2012 Mayor's 100 Teens

Mayors 100 Teens...  This great program began in 1996 as a community collaboration to commend the every day good acts and accomplishments of local teenagers. In 1997, the Leighty Foundation, the YMCA of the Pikes Peak Region, Teen Resources, Inc. and the City of Colorado Springs honored 40 teens. In 1998 the program was expanded with the official endorsement of the Mayor and began recognizing 100 new youth each year.

Each spring, the community at large is asked to nominate teens in grades 9, 10 or 11 who have demonstrated a commitment to serving others, who have overcome adversity or unique obstacles in life, who have achieved something significant and who set good examples and are positive role models but who are not teens who routinely receive recognition. A panel of community judges reviews all the nominations and selects the next years group of Mayors 100 Teens.

Meet the Last Group of 100 Teens... the 2011-2012 Class of Mayor's 100 Teens!
