Youth Programs provides recreational activities for the youth and special populations of Colorado Springs to enhance and build positive recreational experiences and healthy lifelong habits. Primary areas of service include:

  • Providing recreational experiences for over 12,000 boys and girls through organized team sports and specialized sport camps.
  • Expanding opportunities for participation by special populations.
  • Refining the registration process to create a user-friendly system that allows participants to register quickly.
  • Maximizing the availability of facilities to meet playing needs.

Youth Sports Overview
Parks, Recreation and Cultural Services offers opportunities for youth to play in sport leagues throughout the year. Participants may register at convenient practice sites all over town; it's a great opportunity for team building and making friends of the same age. Our volunteer coaches are trained and go through a background check for safety. Because our leagues are so popular, we register participants one to two months in advance. Make sure you plan ahead so that you can have your first choice of practice site. Here is a list of the major sport leagues.

  • Spring Soccer (registration begins in January; leagues start in March)
  • Spring Tackle Football (registration begins in February; leagues start in March)
  • Summer T-ball, Baseball, Softball (registration begins in April; leagues start in June)
  • Fall Football(registration begins in late June; leagues start in mid August)
  • Fall Soccer (registration begins in late June; leagues start in mid August)
