Forms and Online Services
The Colorado Springs Police Department provides a wide array of forms and online services to better service the citizens of Colorado Springs.
Accident Report Request: CSPD maintains accident reports of traffic accidents that are investigated by CSPD officers. The Record Section maintains accident reports on file for 120 days. After 120 days a citizen may make a request for an accident report by contacting the Colorado Department of Revenue, Motor Vehicle Division, in Denver, CO. (see page for specific data and fees required)
Air Support Complaint/Commendation: Complete the online form to send your comments, commendations or complaints to the Air Support Unit (helicopter).
Background (Record) Check Request: Background checks conducted through the Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD) includes information on persons charged by the Colorado Springs Police Department, or records generated at the El Paso County Criminal Justice Facility (booking information on criminal charges). CSPD background checks do not include any statewide or nationwide records, and our searches are not complete record checks. (see page for specific data and fees required)
Booking Photograph: Booking Photographs requests conducted through the Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD) includes booking photograph on persons charged by the Colorado Springs Police Department, or booking photographs generated at the El Paso County Criminal Justice Facility (booking information on criminal charges).
Calls for Service Request: A ?Calls for Service search? will provide a computerized printout of a call screen which is filled in by police department employees who answer the main phone lines. These call screens are utilized to dispatch officers to a specific location requested by a citizen. (see page for specific data and fees required)
Code Enforcement Complaint: Submit an online complaint of a possible code violation within the City of Colorado Springs.
Cold / Counter Reporting: Reporting a traffic accident when the police department is on accident alert; or the accident occurs on private property; or involves minor damange; or the accident is a hit and run involving an unoccupied vehicle on a city street. (see page for specifics)
Crime Reporting: The Internet Crime Reporting (ICR) system allows citizens to submit crime reports that meet certain criteria via the internet. If your incident does not meet the criteria or crime types listed please contact the Colorado Springs Police Department at 444-7000 for assistance. Please report your incident only once to the Police Department, whether by the internet site or by phone.
Fees (Schedule of Fees): Schedule of Fees revised in 2008 per Cty Council Resolution. All fees must be paid by check or money order made out for the exact amount. We do not accept cash and we do not have cash available to make change.
Fingerprint Services: Fingerprint Services are available for persons who need fingerprints for background checks, job applications, applications for child care, liquor licenses, massage licenses, school jobs, teaching, etc. during 8:00am - 5:00pm. (see page for specifics including fees)
Forensic Lab Photo Request: The only thing that the Metro Forensic Laboratory is able to provide for your photo requests is the 35mm photos, Polaroid photos and/or digital images taken by the officer (s) who responded to the call. (see page for specific data and fees required)
Graffiti Complaint: Submit an online complaint of graffiti within the City of Colorado Springs.
Impounded Vehicles: Online application allows you to view upcoming vehicle auctions, search for your vehicle (if it was impounded), review fees and processes.
Parking Complaint: Submit an online complaint of an abandoned vehicle. For parking and storage of recreational vehicles, motor homes, boats, etc., in a residential zone, or vehicles on private property, please submit your complaint via our online Code Enforcement Complaint Form
Police Case Report (non-traffic) Request: Police reports maintained by the Colorado Springs Police Department are documents written by Colorado Springs Police Department personnel that describe incidents that are not traffic. All Colorado Springs Police Department records are released in accordance with current Colorado Revised Statutes. Not all information is releasable on all reports. Therefore, the copy of the report you receive may have areas which have been redacted (blacked out). (see page for specific data and fees required)
Ride-Along Program: The Department officers a Ride Along Program where citizens can ride with a patrol office during a 4 hour tour of duty. Review and submit the ride-along form if you are interested in participating in the ride along program. (see page for specifics)
Sex Offender Report Request: The Colorado Springs Police Department provides an online list of all adult registered sex offender who have committed a felony as well as offenders who are wanted by the Colorado Springs Police Department.
Traffic Complaint Report: File a traffic complaint against another driver in order to: document the violation; describe the driver and vehicle; verify if the complainant can identify the driver and indivate if they are willing to testify in court. (see page for specifics)
Tresspass Letter: Submit the tresspass letter if you are a business owner who wants enforcement of certain ordinances on private property. |

Colorado Springs Police Department Obtaining Records Citizens are provided the opportunity to obtain certain records/information that is in the possession of the Colorado Springs Police Department. A citizen may request a local criminal Record Check on an individual for a prior criminal record. A citizen can also order Case Reports, Accident Reports, Photographs or Calls for Service data. All fees must be paid by check or money order made out for the exact amount. We do not accept cash and we do not have cash available to make change.
