Neighborhood Park Facilities & Maps

Neighborhood parks are generally one to six acres in size, and are intended to be in walking distance of the neighborhood in which they serve. Amenities can include walking paths, playgrounds, picnic tables, small picnic pavilions, sod grass areas, backstops and/or dirt infields, basketball courts, tennis courts, or in-line hockey facilities.

Uncle Wilber Fountain in Acacia Park


   Acacia, 115 E. Platte Ave. (Tejon & Bijou Sts.) is Colorado Springs' first park, and was donated to the City by General William Jackson Palmer, the city's founder, in 1871. Band shell, Uncle Wilbur fountain, picnicking, playground, public telephone, shuffleboard building, shuffleboard courts, sidewalks. 3.7 acres.

Colorado Springs Pioneers Museum

   Alamo Square, 215 S. Tejon St. (Tejon St. and Vermijo Ave.). Site of the Colorado Springs Pioneers Museum located in the restored 1903 El Paso County Courthouse building. The park includes a gazebo, fountain, and sculptures. Museum houses historical and fine art exhibits, Museum store, Starsmore Center for Local History, and more. Museum is free and open Tuesday through Saturday 10 a.m.- 5 p.m. and Sunday 1p.m. - 5 p.m. June through August. 3.7 acres
