City of Colorado Springs / City Engineering / Pikes Peak Rural Transportation Authority (PPRTA) / Bridge Repair and Maintenance

Bridge Repair and Maintenance

The City of Colorado Springs and the Pikes Peak Rural Transportation Authority have made it possible through the development and funding of the bridge maintenance program to develop a deliberate, on-going process to identify and address bridge issues, and to minimize the risks involved in having older structures in use.  This will minimize disruption to traffic and public safety due to deteriorating bridge conditions.

Goals of this program include:

  • On-going inspection of all minor bridge structures to determine condition and quantify repair needs.
  • Perform maintenance on bridges with annual construction packages.
  • Develop a 20-year bridge maintenance and replacement plan.
