Fire Station 12--445 Rockrimmon Blvd.

Station 12 was built to cover Rockrimmon's mostly residential area in the northwest part of the city. Crews from Stations 9 and 10 had handled responses, but response times from those stations quickly became unacceptable. The initial site selected (at Vindicator and Rockrimmon Blvd.) was unavailable. The alternate site (at Rockrimmon and Allegheny) drew protests from the prospective neighbors. Despite the protests, Station 12 opened May 2, 1981, in a building designed specifically to blend into the neighborhood. Station 12 is also the home of Brush 12.
