Bridge Repairs - Traffic Impacts Circle Drive over Las Vegas and Hancock

Repairs on the underside of the Circle Drive Bridges over Las Vegas Street, Hancock Expressway, and Fountain Creek will begin again on Monday, April 18. The work is expected to be completed by September 1.

The project includes:

  • Pier Cap repairs
  • Concrete patching
  • Waterproofing the concrete pier cap

On Monday, April 18, beginning at 7:30 am, eastbound Circle Drive, east of Janitell Road, will be reduced to a single lane for repairs to the piers. The lane closures will shift as the project continues with each lane closure lasting approximately three weeks. Once the eastbound repairs have been completed in approximately 4 weeks, construction will shift to the westbound bridges which will last approximately 13 weeks.

The City is in the initial stages of a project to address existing deteriorated conditions of the bridges on Circle Drive. This effort will begin the repair process so that the functional life of the structures can be extended.

Drivers should expect some delays and use alternate routes when possible.

For the safety and expediency of construction and the safety of the traveling public, the City of Colorado Springs ask motorists to pay close attention to posted speed limits and signs throughout the project area. All construction activities are weather and resource dependent.

Media should contact Dan Krueger, at 385-5385 with any questions.

This project is funded by the Pikes Peak Rural Transportation Authority.
