Milton E. Proby Pkwy Traffic Advisory February 28 - March 5, 2011


Please be advised of the following traffic impacts for the Milton E. Proby Parkway Project this week.

 

Monday, February 28, 2011 - Starting at 7:30 p.m. until 5 a.m. on Monday night, traffic will be reduced to one lane on Northbound Academy Boulevard just south of the Drennan Road and Academy Boulevard intersection. This closure is being done to put traffic into a new permanent alignment. Flaggers will be present to help motorists safely navigate the traffic switch. Speeds will be reduced from 40 to 35 miles per hour.

 

Tuesday, March 1, 2011 - Starting at 10 p.m. until 5a.m.on Tuesday night, Drennan Road will be closed at the intersection of Academy Boulevard and Drennan. This closure is necessary for the installation of above ground support structures. The SouthPoint Plaza Shopping Center will remain open and customers can use the detours posted on Jetwing or Boychuck to access the area.

 

Wednesday, March 2, 2011 - Thursday, March 3, 2011 - Starting at 7:30 p.m. until 5 a.m. on Wednesday and again on Thursday, Southbound Academy Boulevard will be reduced from two lanes to one lane, approximately 1000 feet south of the Academy Boulevard and Drennan Road Intersection. This lane reduction is necessary for the installation of above ground support structures. Flaggers will be present and speeds will be reduced in the area.

 

Saturday, March 5, 2011 - Starting at 5:30 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. Saturday morning, Drennan Road will be closed at the intersection of Academy Boulevard and Drennan. This closure is necessary for pouring concrete in the area. The SouthPoint Plaza Shopping Center will remain open and customers can use the detours posted on Jetwing or Boychuck to access the area.  Also, on Saturday, March 5, starting at 5:30 a.m. until 4 p.m., the northbound lanes of Academy Boulevard will be reduced from two lanes to one. Southbound traffic will be shifted to the northbound side of Academy as the bridge is poured above ground. Traffic will be narrowed to one lane in each direction during this work.  Flaggers will be present to help motorists safely navigate the area and speeds will be reduced from 45 miles per hour to 35 miles per hour.
