Milton E. Proby Traffic Advisory


Starting Sunday, October 10, the following traffic impacts will affect traffic in the vicinity of the Milton E. Proby Parkway Construction Project. The work is being done to facilitate pipe and storm drain installation and for the construction of the approach ramp for the Ramp C bridge on Southbound Academy. This is a cone zone and fines will be doubled for speeding. The speed limit in the construction area is 35 miles per hour for the safety of the workers and the traveling public.

Southbound Traffic Impact:

Starting Sunday, Oct. 10, through Tuesday Oct. 12, and again on Thursday, Oct. 14, night work will take place from 7:30 p.m. until 6 a.m. The work will take place 1000 feet south of the Academy Boulevard and Drennan Road intersection. During this period, southbound traffic will be reduced from two lanes to one. Motorists should expect delays and are strongly advised to use alternate routes. Flaggers will be present to help motorists safely navigate the area. Ames Construction will make every effort to minimize the impact to the traveling public during this modified work schedule.

Northbound Traffic Impact:

On Wednesday, Oct. 13, from 7:30 p.m. until 6 a.m., night work will take place 1000 feet south of the Academy Boulevard and Drennan Road intersection. During this period, northbound traffic will be reduced from two lanes to one. 

Trucks crossing Academy Boulevard on Wednesday, Oct. 13:

On Wednesday, October 13, from 7 a.m. until 5 p.m. motorists should be aware of trucks crossing Academy Boulevard through the intersection of Academy and Drennan Road.  Westbound trucks will be entering the construction site approximately 200 yards from this intersection. Trucks will exit the construction site off of Boychuck. Flaggers will be present for the safety of the traveling public. - Some delays are expected.
