Milton E. Proby Traffic Advisory - Truck Hauling Across Hancock Expressway

Starting Wednesday,  June 30, 2010 through mid-August motorists should be aware of trucks crossing Hancock Expressway 300 feet south of Drennan Road from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday. Flaggers will be present in the area. Detour routes will not be affected.   Please continue to follow the recommended detours for the construction project. 

The $55.4 million Milton E. Proby Parkway project is funded with Pikes Peak Rural Transportation Authority (PPRTA) funds and has an estimated completion date of October 2011. The PPRTA was formed when voters in Colorado Springs, Manitou Springs, Green Mountain Falls and El Paso County approved a one percent sales tax in November of 2004 to address infrastructure and transit needs in the region. The tax revenue is divided into three categories: 55% capital improvements, 35% maintenance, and 10% transit. The capital portion of the tax will sunset in 10 years.
