Austin Bluffs Parkway Corridor Project Completion Update
Monday, December 15, 2014

The Pikes Peak Rural Transportation Authority (PPRTA) along with its contractor, Lawrence Construction is pleased to announce that all six lanes of Austin Bluffs Parkway between Nevada Avenue and Old Farm Drive will open to traffic by the close-of-business on Saturday, December 20, 2014.

Although adverse weather conditions impacted the schedule and additional improvements were added to the project scope, motorists, commuters, residents and businesses along the corridor will now experience a safe, less congested route.

Weather permitting, single lane closures will occur intermittently throughout the winter months as final construction activities, including permanent striping, are performed. Final landscaping improvements are scheduled for Spring 2015.

Construction began on the Austin Bluffs Parkway Corridor project on June 17, 2013. The project scope included widening three key segments of the roadway from four lanes to six: Nevada Ave. to Union Blvd., Union Blvd. to Meadowland Blvd., and Barnes Road to Old Farm Drive.
