CONCRETE DECK POUR TO OCCUR THIS WEEK ?? AUSTIN BLUFFS PARKWAY AT COTTONWOOD CREEK

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo.- Work continues moving forward on the Austin Bluffs Bridge project with early morning work scheduled for Thursday, September 25th. Starting at 4:00 AM and continuing into the late morning hours, crews will pour the new concrete bridge deck, in anticipation of realigning Austin Bluffs Parkway onto the new bridge and roadway later this fall. Construction will include night lighting and construction equipment noise. Residents may hear noise or experience vibrations during this work.

Travelers will experience lane restrictions during this work; pay attention to flaggers and traffic cones.  Motorists are advised to use Powers Blvd. or Rangewood Drive in lieu of Austin Bluffs Parkway and Research Parkway in lieu of Woodmen Road to avoid possible traffic delays.

The goal of this project, funded through the Pikes Peak Rural Transportation Authority (PPRTA), is to design and widen the existing Austin Bluffs Bridge over Cottonwood Creek (approximately 250 feet north of Woodmen Road) in order to enhance the north/south connectivity between residential and commercial activity centers.  Wildcat Construction of Colorado Springs was awarded the construction contract. Design services were awarded to Wilson & Company, Inc., Engineers and Architects in July 2012.
