LANE SHIFTS TO OCCUR ON AUSTIN BLUFFS PROJECT BEGINNING WEDNESDAY
Tuesday, September 02, 2014
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo.- Beginning Wednesday September 3, 2014 motorists will experience lane shifts as traffic is moved to enable construction of new southbound lanes on Austin Bluffs Parkway north of Woodmen Road. Barrels will guide travelers through the lane shift along Austin Bluffs Parkway between Woodmen Road and Meadow Ridge Drive.
The goal of this project, funded through the Pikes Peak Rural Transportation Authority (PPRTA), is to design and widen the existing Austin Bluffs Bridge over Cottonwood Creek (approximately 250 feet north of Woodmen Road) in order to enhance the north/south connectivity between residential and commercial activity centers. Wildcat Construction of Colorado Springs was awarded the construction contract. Design services were awarded to Wilson & Company, Inc., Engineers and Architects in July 2012.
