City is seeking applications for five Infill and Redevelopment Steering Committee Volunteer positions
Tuesday, September 02, 2014

Colorado Springs, CO - City of Colorado Springs Planning and Community Development is seeking applications for five (5) community volunteer positions on a new Comprehensive Plan Infill and Redevelopment Steering Committee.

Mayor Steve Bach and City Council have identified infill and redevelopment as a priority in their strategic plans. These issues and trends affect a broad spectrum of neighborhoods and businesses in more mature areas of the community.  An informed, proactive and strategic approach to this topic is important in maintaining the ongoing fiscal sustainability and livability of the entire City.

Volunteer committee members will assist designated City Council and Planning Commission members in providing guidance and community representation with the goal of adopting and then implementing a new chapter of the City Comprehensive Plan specific to this topic.

Expectations include the ability to effectively represent your unique perspectives, knowledge and experience, as well as the needs and interests of the larger community.  Effective participation will involve meeting on an approximate monthly basis along with review of documents, outreach, representation, and outcome-focused direction throughout an anticipated yearlong process.

Any City resident or property owner is welcome to apply.  The City is particularly interested in effective representation from residents or business owners familiar with, or interested in, infill and redevelopment of mature neighborhoods of the City.

Interested individuals should provide a letter of interest and any other brief supporting materials.  These should include your contact information, address, place of employment (if applicable), groups or organizations you are affiliated with and/or would represent, relevant experience, any major constraints on your availability, and primary reasons for desiring appointment to this Steering Committee.  Selections will be made by the members of City Council and Planning Commission chosen to be part of this Committee.

Applications must be received on or before September 12, 2014. Please send to:
