Fillmore and El Paso Intersection Improvements begin

Construction of Fillmore and El Paso Intersection Improvements begins the week of March 1, 2010 with work expected to last four months.

The project improvements will include:

  • Realignment of El Paso Street
  • New curbs and gutters
  • ADA-compliant sidewalks and handicap ramps
  • Traffic signal improvements

Drivers should expect some delays to complete this work and use alternate routes when possible.

For the safety and expediency of construction and the safety of the traveling public, the City of Colorado Springs ask motorists to pay close attention to posted speed limits and signs through the project area.  All business accesses will be maintained during construction.  All construction activities are weather and resource dependent.

For information or questions on construction impacts, please call Blue Ridge Construction at (719) 578-5225 EXT 10.

The project is jointly funded using Federal Hazard Elimination and Safety (HES) Grant funds and Pikes Peak Rural Transportation Authority funds.  The project will reconstruct the intersection to improve traffic operations and safety.
