Thursday, March 13, 2014

Colorado Springs, Colo - On Friday, March 14, 2014 at 6 p.m. at the City Auditorium, 15 students from local high schools will compete in the City's "Lyrical Lounge" poetry competition championship. The City Auditorium is located at 221 E. Kiowa Street in downtown Colorado Springs.

Lyrical Lounge is a program sponsored by the City’s Parks, Recreation & Cultural Services, Recreation Services Division. The program provides a platform for teens at local high schools to express themselves through poetry and to give them more opportunities to participate in activities beyond traditional interests.  This program is one of the ways the City works to develop relationships with local school districts to support academic and extracurricular activities through youth activities.

The competition is open to the public and admission is $3 per person.
