Death Investigation Update 3900 N. Academy Blvd.

Monday, October 21, 2013, 4:25 PM [RELEASE AT WILL]


UPDATE:  The El Paso County Coroner’s Office completed an autopsy and identified the victim as 25 year old, Carlos Eduardo Zuasnabar.


The manner of death has officially been ruled a homicide and the cause listed as stab wound.


There are no suspects or persons of interest identified at this time so investigators are asking if anyone has information to please call 444.7000.


Note:This remains an active investigation and therefore, no further information will be released.

Sadly, this marks the 27th homicide for CSPD in 2013.

Last year at this time, 19 homicides were investigated.  There were a total of 22 deaths in 2012.


Sunday, October 20, 2013, approximately 5:10 am


The Colorado Springs (CO) Police Department received the report of a possible dead body in the 3900 block of North Academy Blvd. 


Upon arrival, officers located a victim who was deceased male in the parking lot area southwest of Austin Bluffs Pkwy. and Academy Blvd. 


Detectives from the Violent Crimes Unit are on scene conducting an investigation and the El Paso County Coroner’s Office will conduct an autopsy to determine the manner and cause of death. 


The investigation is continuing.
