Mosquito Pass Drive Update

Saturday, September 21, 2013, 10:00 AM [RELEASE AT WILL]

UPDATE:  The El Paso County Coroner’s Office completed its autopsy and has identified the victim as 20 year old, Logan Treguier from Colorado Springs.

A suspect, Benjamin Joe Brown III, has been taken into custody and charged with Manslaughter.  Brown is a 21 year old Colorado Springs resident. 

This is the 25th homicide for Colorado Springs in 2013.  Last year at this time, there were 19 homicides.


{Initial Release}  Late Friday night, {September 20, 2013} at 11:19pm, a report of a shooting was received at 5461 Mosquito Pass Drive.

Officers arrived on the scene and found an adult male deceased from an apparent gunshot wound.

Violent Crimes detectives are currently in their initial phase of the investigation, collecting evidence and conducting interviews from multiple witnesses.

At this time, a possible suspect or vehicle description is not available but detectives do not believe there is a threat to the community.

Investigators will have to wait for an autopsy to be conducted to positively identify the victim.  The autopsy will also determine the cause and manner of death.

Should this be ruled a homicide, it will be the 25th for Colorado Springs in 2013.
