City of Colorado Springs Lifts Fire Restrictions
Tuesday, July 23, 2013

Colorado Springs, CO – The City of Colorado Springs will be lifting fire restrictions effective at 8:00am MDT on Tuesday, July 23, 2013 within the city limits. Fire Marshal Brett Lacey stated, "We have had an extremely active fire season this year, but weather conditions are improving and restrictions can now be lifted.”

Recent precipitation and the continued high humidity have improved conditions and reduced the wildfire danger in the City of Colorado Springs. Fuel moisture levels are making natural fuels less vulnerable to ignition.

Residents are encouraged to “Share the Responsibility” and reduce their wildfire risk by implementing Wildfire Mitigation concepts around their homes and property. Residents are also encouraged to take advantage of the break in the hot weather to work on their property and continue their mitigation efforts. Don’t wait until the fire danger is HIGH before you take action! Wildfire hazard ratings for individual addresses are available athttp://csfd.springsgov.com or call our office for a free onsite consultation at 385-7342.
