One lane of North Nevada Ave. shut down.

The inside northbound lane of North Nevada Ave. over the North Nevada Ave. Bridge was shut down today after a bridge inspector discovered evidence of further deterioration on the deck under the bridge.

 

The bridge spans the Union Pacific Railroad spur track and the Van Buren Drainage Ditch.

 

There will still be one lane open northbound, and the two southbound lanes are not affected.  This bridge deck is scheduled for a complete rehabilitation in the first half of 2010. 

 

It has been almost exactly 2 years to the day that the North Nevada Bridge had to be closed for emergency repairs on its deck.
