CSPD's Communications Center to be Recognized with Award

Monday, September 17, 2012, 9:30 AM [RELEASE AT WILL]

The executive boards of both the Colorado Association of Public Safety Communications Officials {APCO} and the National Emergency Number Association {NENA} were honored to announce that both the Aurora Public Safety Communications and the Colorado Springs Public Safety Communications Department were chosen as Colorado Centers of the Year!

Both Communication Centers have demonstrated an exceptional level of teamwork, drive, unending energy, dedication and personal sacrifice by each and every employee.  The tragedies that both departments experienced were varied, but they both stood up to the challenge and showed the very best in public safety communications.

APCO and NENA are pleased to honor both centers during the Annual Awards Luncheon to be held on Friday, October 12th at 11:30 a.m. during the APCO/NENA State Conference in Longmont, Colorado.

Four representatives from each department have been invited to attend the luncheon and to accept their award.  Each center will be awarded a $1000 cash prize as well as a plaque that will be proudly displayed in their centers.
