On Friday, July 13th, at 7:00 am., following a phone call from a concerned family member, officers responded to the 1000 block of Cheyenne Villas Pt. to check on the well being of an individual.
Although officers were unable to make contact with the person, they remained on the scene. It soon became apparent that a crime had occurred and forced entry was made where they discovered the deceased body of a female. The victim has since been identified as 39 year old, Colorado Springs resident, Christina Cornejo.
The Coroner has ruled Ms. Cornejo’s death a homicide by means of multiple stab wounds.
Investigators immediately identified, and had been actively searching for, their suspect, Mr. Brian Hedglin since Friday.
Detectives went so far as to contact SkyWest and have them deactivate Mr. Hedglin’s access cards in the event he showed up there.
Early this morning, investigators were made aware of an individual who was involved in an incident at the St. George Municipal Airport in Utah. He has been positively identified as Mr. Brian Hedglin.
Any questions as they relate to the death of Mr. Hedglin must be made to the St. George Police Department in Utah.
