Friday, July 13, 2012, 12:50 AM [RELEASE AT WILL]

On Thursday evening, July 12, 2012 at approximately 8:09 PM the CSPD received the report of a shooting in the 600 block of North Wahsatch Ave.

Upon arrival, officers located a male victim of single gunshot.  The victim was shot once in the face; at the time of this writing he is undergoing surgery at a local hospital and is listed in critical condition.

Preliminary information indicates that the victim was staying at an apartment in the area and responded to his apartment door where he was confronted by two (2) individuals, who are possibly black males. 

Just prior to the shot, it was reported that there was an apparent argument in which an exchange of words took place, between the victim and suspects, with raised voices. 

Members of the Violent Crimes Unit, Assault Team are assisting the Patrol Bureau in the investigation of this crime.
