Gracious Donor Donates $50,000 for Suspect Information

Thursday, July 5, 2012, 1:45 PM [RELEASE AT WILL]

The firestorm of epic proportions we experienced; brought out the best in our citizens and the worst in those who preyed on our victims.

This fire proved devastating to the families whose homes were burned and sadly, brought additional frustration to those who were forced to evacuate only to have their homes or vehicles burglarized.

An anonymous donor has graciously dedicated $50,000 to Crime Stoppers.  This money is purposefully reserved for suspect information as it relates to the person{s} responsible for victimizing evacuees’ homes and vehicles following the onset of the Waldo Canyon Fire.

{This is completely separate for any information that might arise as it relates to who was responsible for starting the Waldo Canyon Fire}

The Colorado Springs Police Department is imploring anyone having suspect information to please call 719.385.2222.  This is the only number to call to receive a reward up to $50,000.  You will be required to leave your name and contact number.  An investigator will follow-up with each person who leaves a message.

Your help is greatly appreciated.
