SUSPECT ARRESTED for BODY DISCOVERED on May 30

On May 30th, the Colorado Springs Police Department received a report of a dead body found near 100 Metzler Pl. Upon arrival into the area, officers located a 50 year old male in an open lot in what appeared to be a makeshift camp.
Officers from the Homeless Outreach Team (HOT) recognized the victim as a local transient whom they had contacted on prior occasions. The victim was known to the officers and has now been identified as Mr. James Bidgood.
The Coroner has ruled his death a Homicide which makes this our 11th homicide this year.
Update:
This morning, officers responded to a Domestic Dispute at 16 E. Cheyenne Road. During this investigation, our Violent Crimes detectives were activated to assist and their continued investigation led to the identification and arrest of 36 year old James Henry Bratt of Colorado Springs who is being charged with 1st Degree Murder of Mr. James Bidgood.
