Proby Early Action Construction Project Traffic Impacts Weeks of August 31 and September 7th


 

Colony Hills Circle Closure and Academy Boulevard Lane Reductions

 

Waterline and sewer line work to start on Colony Hills Circle starting Monday, August 31, 2009.  This will involve Colony Hills Circle being closed with a detour.  Access to all residents will remain open.  Sewer line will be installed first with water line to follow.  Drivers should expect detours and delays to complete this work.

Details of traffic impacts and lane closures:

Colony Hills Circle (south of Jet Wing to Colony Hills Circle North) ? Closed with Detour

Weeks of August 31 and September 7th

·         Sewer line and water line installation will require closure of Colony Hills Circle south of Petersen Field channel.  Detours will be provided and access will be maintained for residents along the affected portion of Colony Hills Circle.

Lane Closures ? Academy Boulevard (at Jet Wing)

Week of August 31

·         Right lane closures for both northbound and southbound Academy Boulevard at Jet Wing for curb and gutter and sidewalk installation.

     The Pikes Peak Rural Transportation Authority was formed when voters in Colorado Springs, Manitou Springs, Green Mountain Falls and El Paso County approved a one percent sales tax in November of 2004 to address infrastructure and transit needs in the region.  The tax revenue is divided into three categories: 55 percent for capital improvements, like this project, 35 percent for maintenance, and 10 percent for transit. The capital portion of the tax will sunset at the end of the year in 2014.
