The Colorado Springs Fire Department Hosts the 15th Annual Fire Explorer Academy
Colorado Springs, CO - The Colorado Springs Fire Department is hosting the week long 15thAnnual CSFD Fire Explorer Academy that began June 03, 2012. The academy themed “Rules YOU Can LIVE By”, allows the youth to really get their hands on firefighting equipment and see what it takes to be a firefighter.
Academy Dates: June 3 –9, 2012
Location: Fire Department Headquarters, 375 Printers Parkway, Colorado Springs, CO 80910
Media Day: June 6 from 8am –9pm (3pm optimal picture time, wildland fire training and reppelling)
College/Career Night: June 7 from 7pm –8:30pm with guest speaker Pueblo Fire Chief Chris Riley
During this week, the CSFD Explorer Program is hosting the Emergency Services College/Career night that is open to the public and encourages anyone who has an interest in Emergency Services to attend. This event will be at the Fire Department Headquarters where Pueblo Fire Chief Chris Riley will be the guest speaker and available for questions.
The CSFD Fire Explorer program offers training for youth ages 14-21 that are interested in the fire department as a career option. The main point of contact for the program is CSFD Captain David Broch and he can be reached at 719-492-8168.
