ASSAULT ON AGATE UPDATE

While investigators continue to work this case as it still is in its preliminary stages, an arrest has been made.
Mr. Dennis Odell {1981}, a Colorado Springs resident was taken into custody and charged with Attempted 1st degree Murder.
The victim, whose identity has not been released, remains in the hospital.
If you recall, yesterday afternoon, just prior to 4:00PM, a burglary in progress call was made from 3640 Agate Drive. The caller advised that someone was breaking in a back window.
Information revealed that a disturbance occurred inside the home which resulted in a serious head injury to an adult male. He was transported from the scene to the hospital. A hammer was used in the assault.
Investigators are releasing the fact that the victim and suspect did know one another.
This is an on-going investigation.
