Special City Council Meeting to be held May 16

A Special City Council Meeting has been scheduled for May 16, immediately following the Colorado Springs Utilities Board meeting at 1 p.m. in the Blue River Board Room, 5th floor, Plaza of the Rockies South Tower, 121 S. Tejon Street to set the election calendar for the Memorial Health System lease vote followed by a closed executive session to discuss legal issues involving both Memorial Health System and potential litigation matters. (Approximate start time of the Council meeting is 3 p.m.)

OPEN SESSION

 

  1. Set election calendar for Memorial Health System lease vote on August 28, 2012.

 

 

CLOSED EXECUTIVE SESSION

 

1.         In accord with City Charter art. III, § 3-60(d) and its incorporated Colorado Open Meetings Act, C.R.S. § 24-6-402(4)(b), and (e), the City Council, in Open Session, is to determine whether it will hold a Closed Executive Session. The issues to be discussed involve legal (1) advice and negotiation consultation with the City Attorney regarding Memorial Health System, and (2) advice and consultation with the City Attorney regarding potential litigation matters that are subject to negotiations, developing strategy for negotiations and instructing negotiators. The President of Council shall poll the City Council members, and, upon consent of two-thirds of the members present, may hold a closed executive session. If consent to the closed executive session is not given, the item may be discussed in open session or withdrawn from consideration.
