H2O, Go! Discover the Power of Water
July 16 – 20, 2012
Starsmore Discovery Center

Join us for camp this summer, H2O, Go!, and discover how water influences every aspect of life in the cañon from the smallest insects in the creek, to the mighty cliffs that line the cañon walls. Water has many states that often work in mysterious ways. Young scientists will investigate how water seeps into every crack in the cañon by learning about the Foutain Creek watershed, exploring how wildflowers and trees (at various elevations) are influenced by the availability of water, conducting water studies in “Stream Stomp”, hiking around Helen Hunt Falls, along Seven Bridges trail in the Pikes Peak National Forest and taking an excursion to Seven Falls! Games and activities provide meaningful insight and a whole lot of fun into each day of exploration.

Parents may sign up their young scientist ages 8-12 years old for the week of July 16-20, 9am-3pm ($155) , for only a half day, 9am-12pm all week ($85) or on a drop in basis for a day ($35).  Members of the Friends of Cheyenne Cañon or military will receive a $10 discount on whole and half day options. Before and after care are also offered for your convenience. Campers who register for the whole week will receive a FREE gift from the Friends of Cheyenne Cañon. Campers need to come prepared for the weather with a rain jacket, hat, sturdy shoes, sunscreen, backpack, water bottle, sack lunch and snacks every day! Camp is located in the Cañon at Starsmore Discovery Center, 2120 S. Cheyenne Cañon Rd. in Colorado Springs.
